Some of Last Years Projects
How to Make a Leadership Wilkes-Barre Project Video Your job as a group is to write, shoot, and organize materials to put together a 3 minute video that will highlight your Leadership Wilkes-Barre Project. My job is to teach you how to organize your materials and then edit the peices together to tell the story of your project. Step 1. Write the script. You can be funny, you can be serious, you have to be under 3 minutes. Please read your script slowly, out loud, while someone is timing it. When you come to my studio to record the narration and it is over 3 minutes, a $50 fine will be billed to your group and the $25 for each 30 seconds after that. The script must follow the sample format, if not, a $50 fine will be billed to your group. Click for Sample. Notice that all the picture names and video tapes are organized on the script so I can edit your video and know exactly where things go. Step 2. Organize your pictures and video. All photos must be digital and on CDs or flash drives. All videotapes must be clearly labeled and the times of the video clips your using must be written on the script. Video formats to use: Mini DV, DVD, VHS. If you shoot on Sony 8mm video, you must bring the camera, power supply, and audio/video. Copyrighted DVDs and tapes cannot be used. Step 3. Contact me the moment you come up with some direction to your video at 570-719-9986. I can help you to implement your ideas effectively. Step 4. Set up the production meeting. This is the meeting when your group or video leader meets with me to record the narration and we go through the pictures and video. If you don’t have your pictures and video organized a $50 fine will be billed to your group. Tips: 2. Don’t tell me you have an idea for something, then come to our production meeting with something completely different. There is no time for surprises. 3. Get your script to me when you have a rough draft. I can look it over to see if your ideas will fly. Technical tips: A. Stand close to your subject and zoom out, as apposed to being very far away and zooming in. The video gets shaky that way. B. Film so the light source (sun, office lights) are in front of the subject and not behind them. C. Always allow a few extra seconds of recording before you yell “Action”, and after you yell “Cut!”. D. When recording voices on video, stay away from noisy areas and get close to your subject. Have them speak loudly and clearly. Still Pictures
